Men….I should get word this week…with luck!  The stated meeting is Wednesday evening, I am excited, but keeping it real!
Funny story ...The lodge hosted the state Grand Lodge for an event yesterday and into the evening.  I happened to drive by with my wife and she saw many tuxedo’d gentlemen walking about making their way towards the lodge.  She thought they struck a very handsome and distinguished pose…and then she commented that it was mysterious and exciting…I agree!  Thankfully she is fully on board!  I am a lucky soul!

My Firefighter Brother…..patience has been exemplified in your wait to join the fraternity. I am excited that you will be getting the word very soon. I kinda miss that period in my journey even though it hasnt been that long ago and when I was waiting it seemed like an eternity. My first lesson I have learned as a MM is that I no longer fit into my suit I bought about 10 yrs ago. I got my class A uniform but it has stretch waist on it….... its time to make a few less trips to the ice cream store behind the fire house, OR maybe I could walk the long way around and get my exercise that way…LOL. As far as the tuxedos go, they do look very snazzy…... I especially like the baby blue with the ruffle shirts. I know I am not the only one who remembers those.
Brother, please let us know as soon as you find out the word…..

This varies with every lodge.  For our lodge, it is usually done via email.  However, in some lodges where old guys refuse to use those magic boxes called computers, it would be by a phone call or even a letter.  This would be what I would expect up in NH!  ;)  Seriously though,it really depends on the secretary’s preference.

As far as timeframes, from the time I was introduced to the lodge, to the time that I was actually raised was one year.  If you don’t hear by June, keep in mind that lodges go dark (don’t meet) in the summer, so the secretary might take those months off as well.

Dan,
Thanks for the quick reply! You Columbian guys are ok!  I have been treated nothing but aces by you fellows!  I went to the open house in March and made a friend in Jim Silva. Super nice.  One day, with luck, I plan on putting an effort in to seek membership in your lodge as well.  I will update this post if and when I hear, good or not so good.  Thanks again, John

Hang in there John.  I think you’d be a great addition to Columbian Lodge once you are settled in NH.

This will be my first post here. I found this site while at work. Don’t tell anybody lol. Anyway I am supposed to be giving my FC proficiency this Saturday morning. Then I believe that I am to be raised to MM next Monday. I am very excited and glad to have the brothers of Lexington Lodge #1 with me here in Kentucky.
