My father passed away in April of 2008 and was a member of the Free Masons. He was a member of the lodge in Massillon Ohio. It was the Clinton Lodge No.47. I have all his pamphlets and other stuff that he received over the years and was wondering if there was something special I needed to do with it. Do I send all his Mason stuff back to the lodge in Ohio? I recently retired from the US Navy after 20 years and moved to Southbridge, MA. I have contacted the local lodge’s ambassador about becoming a member but I do not want this topic to be the first thing I talk about.

If anybody has any suggestions please let me know.

Thank You

Bryon

There’s no harm in sending them back to your dad’s home lodge, they will probably find a place for them.  However, if there is any handwriting in them or other personalization that would make it sentimental for you, there’s no reason you shouldn’t keep it either.

Sending his things back to the lodge is a nice gesture, though.

I will not be able to attend the open house because I have to work but I have set up a meeting to talk to one of the local ambassadors to see if I meet some of the qualifications to become a Mason.
