The history of Freemasonry and the great men past and present who have been members was a large driving force in my interest in joining the Fraternity.

You have a great opportunity tomorrow, March 8th.  Every Lodge in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts will be holding an Open House, where you will be able to go into the Lodge building, meet some Masons who are members there, and ask them whatever questions you’d like to. 

The closest Lodge to you is probably Corner Stone Lodge in Duxbury.  The Master (or “President”) of the Lodge is Jack Sutton, who is a moderator on this forum, and a good friend of mine.  Corner Stone Lodge is located at 585 Washington Street in Duxbury.  If you stop by and ask for Jack, I’m sure he (or anyone there) would be happy to show you around.

If Masonry is for you, I wish you the best on your journey.  It is a life changing experience, and one of the greatest things I have ever done.

AZERBAIJAN:
The National Grand Lodge of Azerbaijan was chartered and constituted on December 8, 208 by the Grand Lodges of the District of Columbia and the Grand Lodge of Russia in the City of Baku, Azerbaijan. This Grand Lodge was formed from a Lodge chartered by the Grand Lodge of Turkey in 2003, and a Lodge chartered by the Grand Lodge of Russia in 2003. The fourth Lodge was chartered in 2007. The constitution and bylaws are patterned after those of the Grande Loge Nationale Francaise and of the United Grand Lodge of England. It is the opinion of the Commission that the National Grand Lodge of Azerbaijan meets the standards for recognition.

So there may be some hope.  I just can not find any contact information for The National Grand Lodge of Azerbaija.

Although we have Masons from all around the globe contributing, I don’t know whether anyone from Wisconsin regularly participates. I would encourage you to contact the Grand Lodge of Wisconsin, http://www.wisc-freemasonry.org, and let them know of your interest. They should be able to help you.
