I am interested in joing the freemasons and am wondering how to go about this. Can I just show up to a lodge in my area at any time.

Thanks

You are right to want to make contact with a lodge near you to begin the membership process, but I don’t suggest just dropping in.  We held an Open House at every lodge building in the state this Saturday which would have been a very good opportunity for you.  If you weren’t able to make it out, you will want to contact a member of the lodge and let them know of your interest.  The “Find a Lodge Near You” feature on the AskaFreemason site have the name and contact information of a Brother for every lodge in the state.

The reason for not showing up at a lodge building is that they are generally unoccupied most of the time.  If you happened to visit on a night the lodge was meeting, the members would not be able to give you the proper attention because they would be involved in the meeting.
