Wow, to tackle all of that in this little block of text would be quite a feat!  I’ll try to give you the best guidance I can, but I think a lot of the answers you seek would come from meeting with local Masons face-to-face.  To start I can tell you that any man who is of legal age, believes in a higher power, and is of good moral character may become a Freemason.

As for the intelectual conversation, comraderie, etc., there is certainly plenty of that in abundance to be found in Masonic Lodges, and the more of it that you put in, the more you get out.  The greatest reason that I have heard many men enjoying Freemasonry is that they feel like they are part of something big, something historical, and something that matters in their community.  Freemasonry is all this, and affords each brother the opportunity to get as involved as much or as little as they want.

If you are in the Boston area, feel free to contact me personally at my message link on the main page.  If you are in another town, or are in another state, you should contact your local lodge, or let me know if you aren’t sure how to find it and I can tell you which lodge is closest to you.

Best of luck,

Dan Madore
