Well gentlemen, the moment is upon me. Tomorrow night I meet with the investigative committee. I’m sure that I will do fine as long as I just take a deep breath and be myself, but of course I am slightly nervous. There is a lot riding on this interview.  I’m experiencing a natural involuntary human emotion at this point… I will overcome these emotions. I will update the forum as the events unfold.

As I’m sure everyone will tell you….  Relax and be yourself….  It really isn’t bad.  Mine was very informal… think of it as sitting around and shooting the breeze with a few of your friends!  If you can think of any questions… anything at all…  If you want to know how much the Dues are… Ask…  How many times a month does the lodge meet… ask…. 

After your meeting you will be wondering why you got all worked up over that….. :)

Thank you for the kind words. You were 100% right. The meeting was a complete delight. The men were absolute gentlemen and I felt very comfortable conversing with them. I expected an interrogation and I received nothing but love and open arms. We shared a few laughs and we spoke of many different topics. If these men represent the characteristics of fellow Mansons, then my only regret is waiting this long to attempt to join Freemasonry. I should have done this years ago. I will let you know the outcome of the vote. Thank you again.

I’m glad your interview went well Eric. It may be a while before you hear from the Lodge, so be patient. For example, a gentleman was interviewed in our Lodge on Dec. 18th and was only voted on this evening. There is a lot of paperwork involved as well as receiving and reviewing your letters of recommendations, clearance from Grand Lodge and a ballot at a stated communication. I wish you the best.

Sounds as if your IC went better than expected.  As Worshipful Brother Mathis has stated, be patient!  Just look at my signature for my timeline.  I first contacted the lodge in July ‘11.  I now have been an EA for almost 2 months… I should be FC next week, but if not I’m Ok with that.  It all comes with time.
