I have been emailing and trying to contact mason’s in my community, the grandmaster, members, and the grand sec of my local lodge. I am not recieving any reply. I really want to apply to become a mason. Do you have any suggestions for me.
Thank You

Please be patient. Remember, all of these men are volunteers. Some (not all) lodges close down for the summer.

If I see a man with the freemason symbol should I approach him and ask him for numbers of someone I can contact. Because in the past two days I have seen four different men with the mosanic symbol. I believe its a sign. I have rarely seen freemason’s. And now I am seeing them everywhere. I am not sure if mason’s like to be approached. But on the otherhand, they wouldnt be carrying the symbol if they didnt want to be noticed.
Thanks Again

Most Freemasons love to talk about Masonry. I wouldn’t hesitate to approach someone wearing a Masonic pin. Just tell them you hate to bother them but that you would love to find out more about how to become a Mason. That should get them going.

Remember that Masonry tends to be a more “personal,” rather than “online” organization—few lodges or Grand Lodges have someone dedicated to answering email or dealing with just communication like Massachusetts does. In fact, one of the reasons we started this Website was to give prospective members a chance to speak directly to men who are Masons in their community. There are no online Masons.

And brother Martin was correct. Most Masonic Lodges do not meet in the summer—so there’s not much that could be done with your membership until the fall anyway.

I would keep trying. In the meantime I will try to see if I have any contacts in Saint John that I can contact for you.

Have a great summer.

Mark

Congratulations.

You should know that if you are indeed meeting a District Deputy Grand Master (DDGM) it is a special honor, even among Masons. These knowledgeable men work tirelessly for the craft and are actually the official representativez of the Grand Master in the State within their jurisdiction.

I am confident if you meet a “DD”, as we call them, that you will get all the help you need to find a Lodge that’s right for you and continue your Masonic journey.

Regards,

Yes, he was very knowledgeable about all of the outlines of masonry. I noticed he was quite surprised on everything I have learned through the mason websites. I told him that I was talking to you, and he said that he knew you. It was Graham Fraser of District 1. He was a really nice man. He is mailing me a petition form. And setting me up with the “Investigation Team”. He did say that it will not be till February until I will be able to call myself a mason. I will keep you udated if you like and let you know. And if everything goes well I hope to meet you in person sometime in the future. Thank You
