My wife and I filled out our petitions for the OES.I though it would be good for us to do things together and her appreciate the lodge.Im hoping she will surround herself with positive people, and will help her in life and happiness instead of the negatives that influence her.Anyone else in OES,and your thought?

Hello my friend,

I applaud you for the support for your wife by joining the Order with her. What I have noticed is that when some men join the Star, they seem to fade away from the Blue Lodge. Not all men, but many. It seems that it becomes an outing for the couple and just not a night out for the girls. I suggest that you not make it a habit to go to every meeting or it may become expected!!! She needs her space also. Would you like her to be at the Lodge meetings?? It’s a time for us to let our guard down, to kick back and relax; don’t let that be taken away from you. If my wife joined the order, I would also; but 3 or 4 meetings a year would be enough for me. My mother will be getting her 60 year pin soon; my grandmothers and great grandmothers were also in the Star; it’s a wonderful organization. I wish you the best, my friend.

Fraternally,

Jay

Yes sir,I have noticed that also that many become more involved in OES.I am out of town 2 weeks a month,so I miss one lodge meeting….so I will also miss one OES too if I went every month. So this will force her to go alone, which is what I want for her….to do things on her on.We have a very small country lodge(3 lodges meet there, and 1 OES)but each have only a few members. So some of the my lodge brothers that are in OES,would kick my butt if I didnt attend our masonic meetings…lol.
