The best answer I can give you is a direct quote from the Maryland Masonic Memorial Service, which is performed in public at the funeral home or church where a deceased brother is laid out awaiting burial, when the brother before his death, or his family, request the service.

At one point, the Worshipful Master says, “Masons believe sincerely that when life on Earth comes to a close, the soul is translated from the imperfections to this mortal sphere to that all-perfect, glorious, and celestial Lodge above, where the Supreme Architect of the Universe presides.”

hello sr.member thank your for your post i understand that Free masonary is not a religion any person can be a mason Christian,Muslim or Jew but what i am trying to say that for example the compass(of the compass and square mason symbol) that we draw with a circle represents the eternal soul of a brother free mason,no beginning and no end,and the eternal life and i connected it to Jewish philosophers because many people say the the first masons where Jews and i read that the first masons to arouse where Jews living in Arab cities etc.Jews have a lot of books and quotes about the soul being eternal for example “Maimonides” Jewish philosopher has a a lot of articles about that subject ? thank you for your help ...i am sorry i didn’t explain to well that is all i know by far..thank you for your help

thank you mike…now i understand.
free masons are very wise men took advantage of history and everything around them and noted them into one book that is the back bone of the fraternity.Amazing, for example the sacred science and triptych of the cathedrals and temples in Pakistan,Cambodia,India and all over the world. The men where free masons but they didn’t invent it ,they noted it from historian architects. What i want to ask is,will be there an upgrade to that amazing book ? new methods techniques of building ? rituals or everything will be carried on from history ?

No, this is wrong.  There is no book such as this.  We don’t do that at all.  We don’t have our own holy book.  We are not a religion.  We are not concerned with any one particular religion at all.

We also do not hold the secrets of architecture as it appears your post is implying.  We are concerned with improving ourselves.  We use the ideas of architecture to remind us of certain personal ideals.  We don’t actually build buildings.

I think you are still missing the point.  Check out our FAQ pages again and read very carefully.

With all due respect, I am going to relay a story I once heard from a philosopher:

A young man who loved birds had read lots and lots and lots about Badminton. And he was concerned. He contacted a Badminton instructor and asked him, “Sir, I understand that the mintons must be bad birds, and that you must hit them, but what did they do to deserve this punishment?” The instructor told him, “You are confused, young man, and have read too much.” Badminton is a game where people hit a “birdy” back and forth over a net for fun. Badminton is a game. The Birdy is made of feathers; it is not real bird.

“I understand what you are saying,” said the young man, “it is a game,” but what could these birdies have done to be subjected to this terrible game?”

My point is that you have missed the point of our answers. We have done our best to answer your questions. I will ask that you read our answers for what we are saying and not try to find only the answer you are looking for. You have misunderstood what Freemasonry is – perhaps it is the language barrier – but we cannot help you any more with this line of questioning. I suggest, as the others have, that you read the FAQ’s.

Thank you for your interest. I hope you don’t mind, but I am going to close this thread. I will ask that you please refrain from this line of questioning. Thank you.
