Good Evening Brethren,
Just checking in and proud to say I was elected to the Senior Deacon Chair this year. I look forward to this challenge. I know this seat plays a major role in all of the degrees and I’m up for the task!  I love learning and growing in search of more light!!! Have a great year in Masonry and to all of the newly elected and appointed officers….Congrats!!!!

In Pennsylvania the SD is appointed by the Worshipful Master of the lodge. I do have a question, in Ohio it is an elected position?  Either way the SD is an important office.  Congratulations on stepping up to help your lodge.

Congratz!

I was installed as Junior Deacon in 2017. I made sure I was done with the MC lecture before I was to be installed as SD in 2018. Unfortunately, our JW had to step down for health reasons mid-way through 2017. Our Lodge has a very healthy line so we jumped up a chair for the remaining months. We have been sitting in advanced chairs since October of this year and it is a fun chair. The downside is that I’m envious of you! I’m going to be skipping SD and going straight to Junior Warden in 2018. I will only be doing the second section of FC as Senior Deacon come 2018.

My point is: The senior deacon’s place is probably the best seat in the house after being Master (and I have yet to get there. It’s what I’ve been told by PMs who have occupied both chairs.) Enjoy it. Have fun with it. Learn your parts because you are the most important piece of the puzzle for degree work outside of the candidate and Master.

Take pride in attending to the Altar. All eyes are on you.

I add my congratulations. I have been a Mason since 1982, and I have never had the honor of serving my beloved Craft as an officer. (My international work, makes it impossible). Maybe in my retirement, I will be able to serve. I wish you a successful tenure in office.

Thanks Bro.Steve! It’s one Chair I have looked forward to the challenge on. After watching in on the sidelines and in the J.D.seat previously I’m ready now. I delivered my first Charge in EA as J.D.and now I’m learning the FC Lecture. Thanks for good advice Brother! I plan to make a impact on all of our future Candidates.

Thanks Brother Martin! I wish I had joined sooner but I’m glad I’m in the Fraternity now. I’m lucky enough to have the time now to sit through the chairs and my goal of course is to become Master of the Lodge. Hope you get the time to do so. I look forward to the challenge as Senior Deacon.
