Brethren,

While I understand this is a natural reaction to being taunted by people who exhibit what seems to be intelligent banter, invariably they turn out to be trolls. They thrive on your reactions and continually spout nonsense sending us off to google to simply figure out what they are saying.

They attact the person and ignore the facts. Don’t rise to their bait.

Please don’t feed the trolls.

The most recent troll to which I believe you are referring has been shown the door.

So what? Troll or seeker, our answers to questions should be no different - we should answer honestly and candidly. I don’t see the problem.

We won’t tolerate name calling, which was what ultimately resulted in his removal.

Brethren

I was offline last night, but wanted to quickly post my thanks to all the brothers who patiently answered the questions on this thread and put up with this poster’s abuse for so long.  I also apologize for not stepping in sooner—sometimes my eternal optimism gets the better of me.

Thank you Dan doing so when you saw things went over the line—and to others for reaching out to me privately.

I do think, though, that the thoughtful answers given by the Brothers on this Forum—as well as your consistent unwillingness to engage in downward rhetoric—continues to show the thousands of prospective members who read these posts the kind of men that belong to our great Fraternity.

Thank you again,

Bob

Well said Brother. I don’t know why but this website often attracts people that wants to join Freemasonry in African or Middle East countries and have no clue of what Freemasonry is.

If you look at the thread that our latest troll was participating in,  I answered his questions until he started to expose his true motives. I then simply monitored the thread. I felt that any further participation would be feeding the troll. If we all just stopped answering once the name calling an snarkiness start, the trolls would lose interest and move on.

If you’re talking about hanzer I put him on “ignore” several days ago as he was pretty cellophane!

I gotta comment on that Hanzer person. Yeaa.. There was a point of time where I thought the most big words I used in a sentence the more I could communicate a point and sound intelligent at the same time. Glad he’s banned I read some of his posts and they were a bit scrambled.
