I am a candidate and I contacted the United Grand Lodges in February. In July I received a letter to my address which was calling me for an survey. In one hand it was voluntarily to take part, in other hand they raised the importance of attending this survey. I accepted to attend. A person came to my place and started the interview. Some questions were exactly asking questions from candidates and the interviewer was looking very polite, alert and with wisdom. We were glad of the meeting and at the end and in goodbye time he told me; “Hope to see you next year” Was he a Freemason? Is it possible to interview by this method?

Thanks.

It will help if you could share more information with us about the Grand Lodge where this lodge is located, you can even see the petition and interview process that would have been provided in the Grand Lodge’s website.

Did the person you were interviewing with ever tell you they were a Freemason or say anything about Freemasonry?

No he didn’t say anything about it. He just said he hopes to see me in the next year. Why and where? I don’t know.

I don’t think that survey has anything to do with Freemasonry.  It’s just someone doing a survey.

That’s not how one joins a lodge.

You can be confident that you were not speaking to someone about Freemasonry.  If you were, he would not have asked you about government or politics, and he most certainly WOULD have spoken to you about Freemasonry.

Thanks for sharing your opinion. My only wish is that this person does not make himself in a manner similar to a Freemason without introducing himself in order to establish a more intimate relationship with me to get answers for their questions. This was a great experience for me - at a great price.

I find it hard to believe that you do not know that you were visited by a German Government representative on behalf of the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees! (exactly as it says at the top of your letter)

I think you do not understand what Freemasonry is so I find it confusing that you would want to join it.

Nobody understand completely what a new thing can be. I got to know <Better> that Freemasonry is not about politics and in this brotherhood, members do not talk about politics. However, I am sorry that/if it made any sense. I already received my answer and thank you for that too. I would be pleased if somebody guide me how to delete my post or just do it for me.

Sorry for any mistake. We are human. We do mistake. We say sorry. Not as an hobbit. And not for getting anything back.
