1.  No

2.  Not sure what you mean.

3.  There is an initiation fee. The amount varies depending on where you are.

I have been in the Craft for almost 40 years and am unfamiliar with the blue book of which you speak. It may be legitimate, but my jurisidiction has no such book.

As to ‘mail-order’ membership, I am sorry, but you have almost certainly been defrauded. Real Masons don’t work that way. This con seems for some reason to be very common in Africa. I can only suggest that you file a complaint wth the police.

The con is prevalent in Africa I suspect because of the charitable side of the fraternity; it’s a popular belief that Freemasonry is a way out of poverty so the con artists prey on those who are desperate to join to be eligible for financial aid.

The only blue book I’m aware of is the books documenting the various UGLE rituals… the books are predominantly blue in colour and we often refer to them as ‘the blue book’.

Good luck but don’t get your hopes up of getting back your money.

Hi Emmy,

The location mentioned in your profile is “Lebanon”. Are you in Beirut or Lebanon in Pennsylvania, USA?

Just to make things clear (though mentioned in this forum many times), the only recognized and regular Lodges in Lebanon (Middle East) belong to:

1. Grand Lodge of New York,
2. Grand Lodge of Washington DC,
3. Grand Lodge of Scotland.

And these Lodges does not accept women to join the Blue Lodge - Freemasonry. They have other Appendant Bodies in USA that accept women, but not in Beirut - Lebanon.

I hope the above helped in any way!
Regards,
