FINAL UPDATE for others who will come looking for info on dress code, especially kilts and / or tattoos.

I’ve worn kilts to every pre-lodge meeting for 6 months as well as any open lodge events I could attend.

I have had no issues with either the kilt, nor the tattoos I described and I was initiated last night.

As a matter of opinion I will say that every lodge is probably different in that aspect. Though I had no issues at this lodge in CO, I suspect that it may not have been the same at a lodge in my home areas of MS and LA.

Best of luck to any who consider this garment.

In my personal opinion wearing a suit is part and parcel of attending a lodge meeting. Why wear ceremonial regalia and not pair it with a suit? it just seems half hearted and looks silly. This might be because i am a Mason in an English lodge and we do things very traditionally but i personally enjoy dressing up for a lodge meeting.
