Freemasons vs Elks

Is there any comparison with the Elks and freemasonry? I was reading a little about the elks and it seems like they stole alot of the ceramonies and initiations from us, the Freemason. Even there lodge room looks the same as ours.

Yes, there are many similarities, and the Elks are (I believe) a direct result of Freemasonry. In “American Freemasons”, Mark Tabbert touches on this subject. I am not an Elk, so I can’t comment directly, but that book would be a good place to start your search for answers.
