I don’t know how to put it in the title. Me and group of friends have started our own religion and we follow a God and Goddess. Does it matter what deity we follow to become a Mason?

My two cents:

1)  Be prepared to explain more about your religion to the investigating committee.  Don’t take it as offense or judgement.

2)  Be prepared to inquire about the appropriate volume of sacred law for the obligations.  Most lodges have the Volumes of Major religions…the Bible, Torah, and Koran.  If you do not feel comfortable with any of these, be prepared to suggest your own.

Hi,

The Ancient landmarks of Freemasonry require that a man believe in a Supreme Being and practice monotheism.  Meaning belief in one Supreme Being or God.  If your religion is not monotheistic, then you will probably not qualify to be a Mason.

Best wishes,
Jeff
