To our South Carolina friend: Interesting and informative. This is what its all about: Sharing information and enlightenment! The earliest days of Masonry in the Colonies brought much change to the Masonry of England. The British Regiments brought the Craft to the New World and established the lodges we see in those earliest days. The Virginia Colony met as organized lodges in those days and, as other regions, began the Royal Arch “Lodges” as part of the continued degree work.
The formalization of the Organization and Separation into the Royal Arch Chapter was not until later in the century, as discussed above. General Washington, as others, were able to enjoy a brilliant part of Masonry. Ronald Doucette - Moderator
